HID Lights May Require an HID Conversion Kit but it’s Worth the Investment
Car customization has given us many innovations over the years, improving the way vehicles run and the way they look with every new modification. One of the few pieces of auto equipment that has seen little change in the midst of all of this improvement is the headlight. Until recently car makers and car part companies had neglected the headlight thinking that it couldn’t be improved in any major way, leaving the part almost completely unchanged since it’s invention not very long after the invention of the car itself. Today however we’ve seen a major change in headlights the creation of HID lights. High intensity Discharge (or HID) lights are much more efficient producers of light. HID lights offer the driver a brighter light that clearly defines the road in front of their vehicle. By creating light that is within the spectrum of the light visible to the human eye they also allow us to better see through the light they produce. Regular halogen lights produce light that is harsh and almost entirely falls outside that which is visible to the human eye making it harder to see. Producing light without also generating excess heat (as halogen light do) HID lights offer a more energy efficient solution to driving by night that also reduces the likelihood of having to change the lights after you’ve used a HID conversion kit to install them. In fact you may never have to change the lights on your car again. If you’ve ever left your headlights on by accident then you know the pain of having to deal with a dead battery. HID lights don’t produce light in the same way (they make light by sending energy between two pieces of tungsten and producing plasma with the gas and metallic salts in the bulb.) as halogen lamps (which rely on heating up a filament which over time burns away) which waste large amounts of energy by creating unneeded heat as well burning through your energy at a much faster rate than is necessary. Using an HID conversion kit is a major step in the direction of making your car more earth friendly and energy efficient.
